Created in 1997 by local writer Chip Brown (son of Hobert Brown),
Maynardville.Com was to be an online repository for previosly published articles
by Chip. Published under the name "The Wild Life" Chip's take on small town
life has appeared in newspapers and natioanl magazines. Shortly after its
creation Maynardville.Com took on a life of its own through local online
editorials, opinions and Bible study. Maynardville.Com has been instrumental
in helping other local websites including business, industry and education
come online. Currently Maynardville.Com enjoys on average more than
two thousand page views each day.

An offshoot of Maynardville.Com, Maynardville.Net was created by the staff
of Maynardville.Com to illustrate the best of what is Union County. It was
created after Chip got a call from a movie producer looking for a location
to shoot a scene. Maynardville.Net is currently looking for individuals who
would like to join the blogging community locally. It offers HTML classes
every three months and helps individuals locally set up their own blogs.

Created by Maynardville.Com this website started as a small area on the
Maynardville.Com website. It allows local folks to sign an online registry
of graduates of Horace Maynard High as well as UCHS. Once the project got
large enough it deserved its own website and Maynardville.Net was born.

Part of the worlds largest genealogy and history project the folks at
Maynardville.Com are happy to have created the largest online repository
of Union County history and genealogy information. Started in 1996 this website
survives and thrives today with more than 600 registered members. Members
have their own mail list where they can discuss history and genealogy relating
to Union County. Members range from Hawaii to saudi Arabia. It also features
its own online searchable database of Union County history, queries and stories.

The online home of the Smokey Mountain Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of
America. Operated by local Union Countians, Maynardville.Com is proud to
own host and provide tech services for this site. As a member of MAFCA the
Smokey Mountain Model A Club hosts one of the largest private Model A meets
in America each year in Pigeon Forge Tennessee. the meets are advertised
on the website and draws participants from as far away as Washington State. |
