Union County Tennessee has a long history of industry.
Included in it are at least three marble mines. Union County marble is of
rare brilliance and has been used in monuments around the world including
Washington DC. Modern industry includes limestone mining, manufactured housing,
textile and medical fabrication. Historical mines inside the county consisted
of copper, zink and lead mines.
Our industries are served by State HWY 25, State HWY 33, State HWY 61, State
HWY 144.
The County Seat of Maynardville is located only 23 miles from Interstate
640.
